Joe’s Music

Dr. Dan Matrazzo and the Looters

The Looters Revue Show is led by Joe and Eric Layden of Savannah, Ga. whose tours with Kristina Train (Blue Note), Rosa King (EMI) and Saskia Laroo(Laroo Records) have taken them all over the world. They’ve jammed with Drivin’ and Cryin’, Perpetual Groove, and Sound Tribe Sector Nine. They’ve opened for Golden Earing and played such massive music events as the Almere Jazz Festival in Holland and the Atlanta Jazz Festival in Georgia, where they shared the stage with such big names as Terence Blanchard, Sheena E., and Medeski, Martin, and Wood.

Their latest guest,Dr. Dan Matrazzo, is known as one of two godfathers of jam music with his long-time former partner Col. Bruce Hampton (deceased), and has recorded with The Allman Brothers, the Fiji Mariners, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Widespread Panic, and Joseph Patrick Moore. His own album “Dan on the Moon” (Terminus, 2000) featured Warren Haynes on Guitar and Sam Sims on bass. He’s gigged with Steve Vai, Les Claypool, Ween, Leftover Salmon, James Cotton, and Phish, and taught piano lessons to some of the current jam scene’s best keyboardists.

Today, The Looters Revue Show mainly performs at their own venue, Myrkwood Farms in Fleming, Georgia. Their monthly concerts feature special guests from many musical styles.

Joe and Eric continue to create ancient musical instruments for use in the background recordings for Joe’s audiobooks and videos. Live performances and how-to instructionals are available on their youtube channel.
