Going in to the tour we knew very little. Coming out we had a good understanding on how life was lived in 1790. There were lots of other tours that we saw while out and they looked kind of silly with method actors and a ton of people. Joe was friendly and professional With a good sense of humor. So glad we went with his tour.

The driver, Joey, was a great storyteller and made everything a lot of fun. Learning some of the history of Savannah was also awesome. It’s a very haunted town. They were very accommodating for anything we needed. Would definitely do it again and again. You will not be disappointed!

The other best part was that Joe shared ghost sightings. Joe went back to pre-Columbia history of Savannah. I’m talking some old old ghosts. This gentleman was very rich in history and knowledge. I’d like to do this tour again when other friends come to visit. I know Joe has more to tell.
Highly recommend!!!Jun 2022We highly recommend this tour! My husband and I and a friend joined Captain Stoner for a dive bar tour and he was so knowledgeable and friendly and fun! It wasn’t like being on a tour, it was like hanging with a cool friend who knew a lot about the area and shared it with you in a way that was interesting but not like a tour guide. It was perfect! SO MUCH FUN!!!

Last Friday, I had the delightful opportunity to be on a tour with Captain Stoner and 2 friends. My friends were running behind and he was willing to rearrange our tour route to meet up with them.
Once we got going, we were told wonderful stories and even got the chance to to a speakeasy I’ve never been able to go to before.
It is well worth your time to tour with the Captain!
Great guide/tour! My wife and I lucked out on this tour. It was just me, her and Joe so we got to pick his brain throughout the whole tour and Joe didn’t disappoint. We always love to here the folklore from the locals and Joe is a wealth of knowledge. He was also the only guide to bring up Rene, so that was a huge treat for us. Definitely 5 stars!!

Unscripted, personable tourJoe was a very kind and intriguing individual. He was able to captivate our attention for the duration of the tour. He told stories that you wouldn’t hear on the mainstream ghost tours that Savannah has to offer. It was a very personable tour with plenty of time for questions to be asked and answered. The tour also didn’t feel scripted like some tours tend to be. Overall I would highly recommend stoner Joe’s ghost tours to anyone who has already done the mainstream ghost tours and was looking for something different.

I overheard some other tours during our stay and they seemed very cheesy and scripted. Joe is not reading from a script and I really liked that.
